The Cheetah pattern may be the highest scoring of the PBA patterns, but even so, today's top scores were higher than expected.
John Sowell averaged 227 en-route to the $300 first place prize. He lead from the start throwing a 279 in game one. He shot 675 for the final three and his grip on the top spot was never threatened.
Chris Glossner jumped from 5th to 2nd after throwing a 289 in the final game.
The top ten finishers all qualified for no-tap Strike Run round. John Sowell had first rights to the top prize of $147, and it looked like he had it in the bag until his fifth shot drifted high leaving an eight count and $18.
Chris Glossner was next up and he was not to be denied. He made quick work of his seven strikes to claim $133.
The next six qualifiers failed to collect any of what was left. Steve Smith, a Strike Run veteran and all-time Strike Run earnings leader, threw 7 strikes to break the pot for the fourth time in 2010. This time however, there was only $26 left to win.
This event was a non series event which means that points were not awarded.
